“Steel, Gold, and Blood”
Overview
One of the Lesser Houses of Séllur, founded by Sir Thaselot. House Marleau is famed for its prestigious military academies and Flamewreathed Knights. Despite being a Lesser House, House Marleau produces knights and commanders at the same rate as House Midinet. Due to close geographical proximity and shared Fedelven culture, House Marleau and Midinet have very close relations.
Sir Thaselot was said to have the wings of a red dragon and be able to breathe fire like one. While the true appearance of Thaselot is unknown, his draconic ancestry is proven by the various “gifts” of House Marleau. Rarely members of House Marleau can be born with draconic eyes, wings, talons, or scales.
Members of House Marleau can be identified from their distinct red hair, strength, courage, tanned skin, and their soldier-like demeanor. They fly an orange banner with a black dragon upon it.
Notable Members
Count Orderic For more information see Orderic Marleau
Henri “the Titan” Marleau For more information see either Fleurier Order or Primrose Council
- Sir Henri is the nephew of Count Orderic and Daliah’s brother. He is known across Séllur as the model of what a knight should be. He has large draconic wings like Sir Thaselot, a rare trait of House Marleau.
Councillor Daliah Marleau For more information see Primrose Council
- Daliah is the representative of House Marleau on the Primrose Council and Henri’s older sister. She is very popular in Bosquia and expected to inherit the County of Murufort from Count Orderic because he has no children of his own.
Count Theodoric
- Count Theodoric of Thastille is the son of the late Sir Valoric and nephew of Count Orderic. Sir Valoric was the commander of the Fleurier Order before his death in the Moondrop Rebellion. Count Theodoric has had a zero tolerance policy towards worship of the Moonlit Gods ever since.
The Marleau Oath
- House Marleau’s founder, Sir Thaselot swore an eternal oath to Jacque and House Jacquemond which linked the two houses permantnely. This is one reason House Marleau is so trusted by House Jacquemond and considered the most honorable of the Houses of Séllur.
