“Lord Darby is one of the best administrators I’ve ever met. Quick, funny, and with a visionary mind. Unfortunately, he can’t seem to administer his way into his children’s affections…” - Duchess Vivienne
Overview
First Duke of the Crownlands and one of the major forces in keeping House Jacquemond afloat while Queen Josette is out of the picture. Duncan Darby is originally from Portsdam, hailing from one of their more powerful families. He is the father of Prince-Regent Hubert and Princess Honora.
Despite not being from Séllur he is generally well liked, especially in the Crownlands. Now in his 50s he has held the position of First Duke for close to 25 years. He has won the Séllurian people over with his charisma and willingness to adopt Séllurian tradition and culture.
His marriage to Josette has opened Séllur to more trade with Portsdam, and more access to the goods that Portsdam’s many colonies provide. This has caused a rise in more exotic goods in Séllur and improved ability to export Séllurian goods abroad.
