Gods know I can't."* > - Excerpt from *A Woodsman's Diary* # Overview The Mourning Three or Tarneyan Three as they are sometimes called are a coven of witches that protect [[Séllur]]. They appear to be human but they have shown no signs of aging in over two centuries. Their names are Crisalya, Lanstraya, and Emiraya. Not much is known about the three sisters, legend says they appeared to the original [[Blooming Blades]] and indebted themselves to House [[Jacquemond]] after the founding of Séllur. According to [[Baldewyn Marfourt]], they had no memories except for their names and impressive magical knowledge. Today only Crisalya remains as a servant of the monarch. The other sisters normally follow their own agendas, only convening to stop threats like natural disasters, or trying to ward against threats like Zeldrak that even the [[Fleurier Order]] can't handle. **Crisalya** - Crisalya resides in [[Bosquia]] and serves as the monarch's archmage. She has served in this capacity since the founding of Séllur in 384 AD. She is a master of Evocation magic. She is known to be impossible to rattle, always composed, and impossible to read. She has become a staple of Bosquia where children are told that she will take them in the night if they misbehave, which her intimidating height and countenance reinforce. **Lanstraya** - Lanstraya's residence is unknown and prone to moving around. She is a master at Transmutation magic and often delivers and receives pets as she floats around Séllur. There is a tradition to leave pieces of food outside one's door in hopes that one of Lanstraya's pets will take it and give the house a spell of protection. She is known to be lively, more free spirited than her sisters, and impossible to track down. **Emiraya** - Emiraya is the most secretive of the three sisters. There are cults that worship her as a prophet due to her mastery of Divination magic. She is reclusive and does not make herself readily available. Nobody has heard from her since the [[Moondrop Rebellion]]. Legend has it that when you see a white crow, Emiraya is watching.
