They are recognized for their martial might and fostering of [[The Blanket]]. Their [[Seven Orders|Knights of the Great Harvest]] are acclaimed for their dominant cavalry. The current head of House Midinet is Duchess [[Vivienne Midinet]], who has led the House for 28 prosperous years. House Midinet flies a red banner bearing a golden lion's head upon it. Due to their control of The Blanket, House Midinet produces more crops and animal product than the rest of Séllur combined. Their sheer Members of House Midinet can be identified from their stark blonde to brunette hair color, hardiness, and general jolly nature. # Notable Members **Duchess Vivienne Midiniet** *For more information see [[Vivienne Midinet]]* **Councillor [[Primrose Council|Saul Midinet]]** Younger brother of Duchess Vivienne, he was a member of the [[Fleurier Order]] for over 20 years before his retirement in 617. He served as the Interim Commander of the Fleurier Order before Henri was officially named commander. He earned much glory during the [[Moondrop Rebellion]], especially after being named Fleurier Commander. **Prince-Consort Aleksandre Midinet** Aleksandre is Vivienne's third oldest son. He was trained as a knight but did not wish to join The Great Harvest Order so abandoned that life. He is married to [[Honora Jacquemond|Princess Honora]] with who he has 2 children. **Sir Rudolf** *For more information see [[Fleurier Order]]* Sir Rudolf is the oldest member of the Fleurier Order by far. One of Duchess Vivienne's many uncles, Sir Rudolf earned great glory during the [[War of Smoke & Shield]] and is one of the most respected members of the Fleurier Order. **Arlette Midinet** Arlette, who has recently gone missing without a trace. House Midinet blames House Coucher but Coucher has denied it. **Augustin Midinet** *For more information see [[Fleurier Order]]* Augustin Midinet is Vienne's young cousin and a member of the Fleurier Order. He was handpicked by Henri shortly following his ascension to Fleurier Commander. Augustin is a reserved man without scandal or fanfare. **Eldion Midinet** Eldion Midinet is another uncle of Duchess Vivienne. Eldion is one of the only mages in House Midinet, having an immense talent for it.He was one of the key heroes of the [[War of Smoke & Shield]] and is credited with singlehandedly turning the tide. Unlike his brother Rudolf, Eldion retired from his role as House Midinet's premier [[Séllurian Legal System|magistrate]] long ago. # Midinet and Coucher Rivalry House Midinet has a storied rivalry with House [[Coucher]] dating back centuries with Lady Marian and Sir Dorian. Their rivalry reached critical mass around 50 years ago when the [[Dusk Counties]] were being conquered by [[Séllur]]. Duke [[Drakith Coucher|Drakith's]] brother Vykith, the Archduke of the Sovereign Dusk Counties, was captured by Duke Arnaud of the Day Counties, grandfather of Duchess Vivienne. Duke Arnaud chose to guard Vykith personally which was unusual for a Duke. Nobody knows exactly what transpired between the two, but they were both found dead in that dungeon. Both bodies were charred beyond recognition. Both houses blamed the other for dishonorably slaying their kin. The Midinet felt that Vykith could only have done this through backstabbing the honorable Duke Arnaud and using dark magic to do it. House Coucher believes that Duke Arnaud attacked and killed the imprisoned Vykith, causing Vykith to try whatever he could to retaliate. Whatever the truth of the situation is, a century of blood feuds cannot be solved overnight. Recent events seem to have stoked the embers of this rivalry, and with the [[Josette Jacquemond I|Queen]] slumbering and the court in turmoil, the two houses seem to have no mediator.
