She is in her 50s, having ruled for 20 years Her father, Salaston II completed the annexation of the [[Dusk Counties]] and married Minea Luxborn, a descendant of the [[Divine Empire of Haven]]'s emperor. This let Josette inherit a powerful kingdom with strong familial alliances. As Queen of Séllur, Josette wields the [[Soleil]], an artifact created by [[Quincy Gainier]] and originally wielded by [[Jacque|Jacque]]. The Soleil is said to allow the monarch to speak with Sélluria directly, allowing her wishes to be done on Vallaera. It also brings untold vitality and prosperity to Séllur by enriching the sun's rays. Josette is the older sister of [[Primrose Council|Admiral Galien Jacquemond]] and her husband is [[Duncan Darby]] with whom she has two children: [[Hubert Jacquemond|Hubert]] & Honora. Josette has recently fallen into a seemingly never ending slumber. This has caused turmoil across Séllur as the [[Primrose Council]] clamors to maintain stability and the [[Houses of Séllur]] each try to get a leg up on eachother during this crisis. The Soleil seems to be the only thing keeping her alive, although at the cost of the prosperity it brings to Séllur. No one knows how her affliction came about or many of the details. As far as most people know, it started around 9 months ago when the prosperous rays of the sun diminished. Her daughter Honora was the one to find her. Josette was considered a model monarch. She projects majesty wherever she goes and serves as a figure all of Séllur can respect. She is known to rule justly but will brutally punish treason. She ruled during the [[Moondrop Rebellion]] which cemented that crossing the crown had dire consequences. Some praise her heavy hand during the rebellion while others hold discontent. Regardless, none speak ill of the Queen.
